Kaubaplats Fees Explained: What's Free and What's Paid

Understanding what costs money on Kaubaplats — and what doesn't — helps you plan whether and how to promote your listings. Here's a plain overview of how it works.

What's free

Creating an account, browsing listings, messaging buyers and sellers, and publishing a standard classified listing are all free. There's no fee simply for listing an item or completing a straightforward sale arranged directly between buyer and seller.

What's paid

  • Star and Lightning promotion are optional paid add-ons that increase your listing's visibility in search results and category pages for a limited time — useful when you want to sell faster or stand out in a competitive category.
  • Current pricing and package options for promotions are always kept up to date on our Pricing Plans page, since these can change over time.

RahaKaitse escrow

Using RahaKaitse escrow protection for a transaction may involve a small service fee as part of using the smart contract system, separate from listing promotion costs. This is the cost of the security it provides — funds held neutrally until both sides confirm the deal — rather than a listing fee.

Choosing what to pay for

Most sellers never need to pay anything at all — a well-written free listing sells most items without promotion. Paid promotion and escrow protection exist as optional tools for specific situations: faster sales, competitive categories, or higher-value transactions where the extra certainty is worth the small cost.
