How to Spot Phishing Emails and Messages Impersonating Kaubaplats

Fraudsters sometimes impersonate real platforms to trick users into handing over login details or payment information. Knowing what genuine Kaubaplats communication looks like helps you spot the fakes.

Common phishing tactics

  • Emails or messages claiming urgent action is needed on your account, pushing you to click a link and log in immediately.
  • Links that look similar to our real domain but are subtly different (extra characters, a different extension, or a misspelling).
  • Requests for your password, payment card details, or crypto wallet seed phrase — legitimate services never ask for these directly.
  • Fake "payment confirmation" or "delivery" notifications for a purchase you didn't make, designed to make you panic-click a link.

How to verify a message is genuine

  • Don't click links in an unexpected email — instead, open Kaubaplats directly by typing the address yourself or using a saved bookmark, and check your account or messages there.
  • Hover over (or long-press on mobile) any link before clicking to see the actual destination URL.
  • Check the sender's actual email address, not just the display name, which can be faked easily.
  • Genuine account security notifications (like the ones covered in our verification guide) will never ask you to reply with your password or full card number.

If you've already clicked or entered details

Change your password immediately, enable two-factor authentication if you haven't already, and check your account for any unfamiliar activity. If you shared payment information, contact your bank or card provider right away.

Reporting suspicious messages

If you receive a message claiming to be from Kaubaplats that seems suspicious, don't interact with it — report it so our team can investigate and warn other users if needed.
