How to Report a Suspicious Listing or User

Reporting suspicious activity is one of the most effective ways the Kaubaplats community stays safe — every report helps our team catch problems faster, whether or not you personally ended up affected.

What's worth reporting

  • Listings with prices far below market value for no stated reason.
  • Sellers pushing to move payment or communication outside the platform.
  • Listings using photos that appear to be taken from elsewhere online (stock images, other sellers' listings, or unrelated product photography).
  • Messages that feel like pressure tactics, urgency scams, or requests for unusual payment methods like gift cards.
  • Any account behaviour that seems designed to avoid scrutiny — refusing calls, avoiding video, or dodging direct questions about the item.

How to report

Use the report option available on the listing or user profile to flag the issue directly to our team, including as much detail as possible — what specifically seemed suspicious, any messages exchanged, and screenshots if you have them. This gives our team the context needed to review the account quickly and fairly.

What happens after you report

Our team reviews reported listings and accounts, and takes action where warranted — this can range from asking a seller for clarification to removing a listing or restricting an account, depending on what's found.

If you've already been affected

If you've lost money or received something other than what was promised, report the issue immediately and also read our guide on what to do if you received a damaged or fake item. If the transaction was protected by RahaKaitse escrow, your funds may still be recoverable through a dispute rather than lost outright.
