How Account Verification and Feedback Ratings Work

Trust between strangers is the foundation every marketplace has to solve, and Kaubaplats uses two simple tools to help with it: account verification and feedback ratings.

Email verification

When you create an account, you'll be asked to verify your email address using a code sent to your inbox. This confirms your account is tied to a real, accessible email address, which is the first basic layer of accountability behind every listing and message on the platform.

Two-factor authentication

For extra account security, you can enable two-factor authentication, adding a second verification step beyond your password when you log in. This mainly protects you from unauthorized access to your own account, but it also protects the community — a compromised account is often how scam listings get posted using someone else's established reputation.

Feedback ratings

After a completed transaction, both buyer and seller can leave feedback for each other. Over time, this builds a visible history on a user's profile — the overall rating, the number of completed transactions, and written comments from past trades.

How to use this information

Before completing a transaction with someone new, check their profile: verified accounts and a solid feedback history are good signs, though neither is a substitute for the other precautions covered elsewhere in our knowledge base — checking listing details carefully, communicating through the platform, and using RahaKaitse escrow for higher-value purchases regardless of how established the other party appears to be.
