Reusable decorations (string lights, sturdy props, fabric bunting) hold value well since they're rarely damaged by a single use. Check battery-powered items work before buying, and ask about storage conditions for anything that could be affected by damp.

List costumes and decorations promptly after your event, timed to when the next buyer would actually want them — Halloween costumes sell best in the weeks leading up to Halloween the following year, not immediately after your own use when demand has dropped.
